4.00 AM

I've been watching National Geographic and Discovery Travel & Living channels every single night for almost a week to help me doze off and I found couple of interesting facts:

1. Hitler and the Nazi soldiers had the most stylish uniforms ever. I'm not supporting their radical view nor the horrible cruelty they did towards the Jews during the WW II. But I must admit that whoever designed their outfit had an immaculate taste in fashion.

2. The aforementioned tyrant was a very lucky man. He escaped 42 attempted murders. Even cat only has 9 souls. I don't think he's a human at all. Devil's crossbred maybe?
3. You can actually eat a raw cacao bean. From the look on this guy's face who ate them on TV, I think they are quite tasty.
4. Dayak Iban's tatau (traditional tribal hand tapping tattoo) are so beautiful I want to have one on my body. It takes two person to do this type of tattoo: the tattoo artist and the skin stretcher, and a massive pain killer to ease the pain.

5. I never knew before about the Amazon shrunken heads. And after seeing those images on National Geo, I don't know if I could sleep without having a nightmare now.

6. So many wars in the world causing suffering, misery and loss. Most of them were conducted by men, never a woman. So....

Oh well, I need to hit the bed now. Have an early morning shoot today

Pretty Dots

Oh yes, as a tights/hosiery/stockings aficionado, I live 24/7 in my pair of black opaque tights. I know some people may think I'm crazy as I live in tropical country where it's hot and humid all the time. But, I don't care. The temperature of my previous office was like in the north pole, and M&S opaque tights were my loyal buddies that saved my toes from freezing to death. And I just love how black tights create silhouettes of longer and leaner legs. It's like getting a painless liposuction :p.

Although I collected other colors than black (I have pop art prints, lace, various leggings in technicolor shades, cut out, etc etc) I always come back to my good ol' 40% denier. Anyways, seeing this lovely Balenciaga ads from their F/W 09, I have new obsession: Polka dots sheer stockings. My best friend suggested Zara, but I don't like their too small dots as they look like moles. I want big polka dots, and the only place I could get them is of course eBay! They even cost less than Zara's. Oh, I can't wait for my baby to arrive!

FAQ #1

The most common question coming from my foreigner friends: how could you manage to work 9-6 (sometimes to God-knows-when-the-deadline-ends) but still become a musician?

The answer is: I don't do crappy songs, and non-crap music won't make you a millionaire here, let alone pay your bills. So I must work. Beside, i love being busy and stressed out. not.

But I do love my job. Who doesn't?

Long Lost Holiday

Proenza Schouler's shoes for Spring/Summer 2010 made me wanting to dive in the sea of a lost paradise. They remind me so much of those tropical fishes, with the carefully thought of fin-like platform heels. With shoes as beautiful as these, I'm ready to bid farewell to studs and the 80s hardcore!

One little step

Finally..I've made the bravest decision in 2009. I resigned from my current job as fashion editor for Cosmogirl Indonesia and SPICE! last month. It was a hard decision to make, as I really enjoyed my job despite its long hour and stressful deadline. It took me almost 2 months to tell my bosses about it. Breaking news indeed, as she (my editor in chief) was quite startled and she mentioned, "you know, that's the 30th hmmppffff -the sound of her exhaling dramatically- in the past 2 hours." I know saying goodbye to your dearest friends and cool bosses (mine back then were super cool and incredibly nice) are painful, it's like having your heart broken by the boy you loved, but I must do it in order to go ahead with my career. Working in teenage magazines is fun, as the fashion is very cheerful and full of experiments, but in fashion, one won't go anywhere if she stays in this field forever. You have to do glossy fashion magazine, the real deal. So when ELLE Indonesia contacted me and offered me the job as fashion editor, I think I should take it. So goodbye lovely friends at CosmoGirl & SPICE, and hello to new equally lovely friends at ELLE Indonesia.
